the tale of the missing glove...

good friday! I'll jump right into my story...

It all began last Sunday on our weekly trip to Sobey's to get all of Rob's 'lunch essentials' for the week. As I got out of the car I failed to realize that my gloves were on my lap. Unbeknownst to me, one glove fell inside the car and the other glove on the pavement outside. Being as Rob was dropping me off we were in the drive thru/drop off area thus failing to notice my lone glove had making a nose dive into the puddle. I proceeded to enter the store and do my shopping, paying for my groceries at till 9 (i remember b/c i texted rob that i was at till 9) and left the store. Only when I got home did I realize I was michael jackson...one glove...with the other one no where in sight.

fast forward to Thursday night...

Another run to Sobeys (as I wanted to make cookies and we didn't have any eggs). I jokingly suggested that I should see if my glove is still on the ground (my brilliant powers of deduction lead me to believe 100% that I lost my glove outside Sobeys). I walked over to where Rob dropped me off and nada...nothing...So we proceeded inside and picked up the eggs and left. As we were driving out the parking lot, Rob looked outside the car and said "I think there's a glove on the ground a few feet away from where you were looking". I got out and lo and behold! MY GLOVE! All nasty and muddy and so full of slush that it looked dark grey instead of cream in colour! I threw it on the floor of the car and we took the poor thing home. A tumble in the washer tonight should make it as good as new (I hope!). If not, please consider purchasing me a new pair for christmas! I'd like red leather ones please....preferably the ones from danier that I like...

So that's my story. Oh that and the computer systems at work keep crashing so thats why I'm able to write such a long, winding tale while at work.

man, sometimes I really hate technology...

One degree of dave...

well dudes, lets start this week off on a fantas-great note!

Not only is it 2 weeks from christmas, but a coworker just came by and told me some very exciting news. While in Vegas last week she had the pleasure of seeing Dave Navarro in the hotel lobby! Those of you who know me well know of my obsession with the scantily clad guitar dude. i love him! and now i am one degree away from dave...sweet...

so what else? ummm...done the christmas shopping (yay!). now when i go to the mall i can just laugh at all the poor saps running from store to store to finish their shopping. hahahah! we put plastic over our windows yesterday (you know its winter in winnipeg when...), and my shirt won't stay buttoned. its got a single snap in a very obvious place and if i stretch at my desk...oops! there goes the goods! thankfully i face the wall, i'm wearing a suit jacket and there's 2 buttons lower down on the blouse so that if it pops while i'm walking i'm somewhat covered. not quite your experience kj, but i feel ya. nothin like flashin a room full of people to brighten their day (or at least the guy 3rd row from the left!). just look at it as a community service. merry christmas i gotcha some boobs...

best present ever....

beautiful words...

I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.

I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way that this:

where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.
